Wu Chan Jie Ji Zhuang Zheng Wan Sui Long Live the Dictatorship of the Proletariat Macromedia Freehand MX & Adobe Photoshop CS 2 Sketching with 2B pencil on Watercolor paper ----- I just read CHINESE POSTER which i bought from Kinokuniya Bookstore. The posters are inspiring yet very realistic. During the regime of Mao Zedong, Chinese artists were forced to make a "socialist" style of poster art by showing the hardwork of the peasants, soldiers, and workers. The period is coined as GPCR or Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. Some of the posters are prints, and many others are manual paintings, with bold Chinese characters showing persuasive sentences. The posters subjects mostly include the lifestyle of Chinese proletarians, critic for religions, and rejection to westernization.
